Summer Term 2023

The Hullabaloo Summer Term starts on Monday 17th April, and runs through to July 17th, with 2 gigs being planned: an exciting collaborative Fringe Festival show on Tuesday 9th May and a fundraiser gig with Zu Choir gig on Wednesday 12th July.

Come and Join Us for our 25th Anniversary! It’s our Silver Jubilee

Over the last twenty five years, Hullabaloo’s choral escapades have taken us from London to Leicester, Aberystwth to Arundel and Whitby to Worthing! But we also love performing in Brighton & Hove, our home turf – during the Fringe festival, at Caravanserai on Tuesday 9th May and our main gig, in St Bartholomew’s Church, on Wednesday 12th July

Our Fringe collaboration is with New Note Orchestra On 9th May, New Note Orchestra and Hullabaloo Community Quire come together for a collaborative musical bonanza of words, electronic orchestral music and lush vocal harmony. New Note Orchestra will feature some of their more popular compositions and Hullabaloo Community Quire will support with a short, thematic choral set. The show’s finale will feature a new collaborative work featuring both ensembles.

New Note Orchestra composes beautiful music, summed up by an audience member in Feb 2023 – “I was utterly blown away by the pieces the orchestra have created. I’ve not seen anything so sonically curious or absorbing since the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra did a tour commemorating Kraftwerk’s Autobahn in 2018.”

Our July gig collaboration is with Lewes’ Zu Choir On 12th July, Hullabaloo will be collaborating with Zu Choir, singing some brilliant songs written by black composers as part of the BLM Commissioning Project. To find out more, clink the info link button and watch the vid!

Our main venue for this term is St Paul’s Primary School, St Nicholas Road. BN1 3LP, this has a large hall and it has parking on site. See Venues section below for further information.

We rehearse from 7pm to 9:15pm, with a short break. It’s good to arrive from 6:40, for a prompt start, and rehearsals finish later just before a gig.

We send regular emails to members which give clear info about each rehearsal.

We’d really love to welcome returning Hullabaloo members, as well as regular Hulla folk and brand new singers! We’d especially like to welcome more men – but everyone is welcome in the Hulla Tribe! Let’s get back together! See you Monday 17th April

Please see the Dates and Fees pages
