Spring Term 2024

Come and Join Us – sing more in ’24!

Over the last twenty five years, Hullabaloo’s choral escapades have taken us from London to Leicester, Aberystwth to Arundel and Whitby to Worthing! But we also love performing in Brighton & Hove, our home turf!

We are having a fun term of Hulla Classics & you are invited to make suggestions to bring back your faves!

This term’s gig will be on Saturday 23rd March at St George’s Church. We are finalising our plans – keep checking in for news of other performers!

Our main venue for this term is Stanford Junior School, Stanford Road, Brighton BN1 5PR, this has a large hall and it has some parking on site. See Venues section below for further information.

We rehearse from 7pm to 9:30pm, with a short break. It’s good to arrive from 6:40, for a prompt start, and rehearsals finish later just before a gig.

We send regular emails to members which give clear info about each rehearsal.

We’d really love to welcome returning Hullabaloo members, as well as regular Hulla folk and brand new singers! We’d especially like to welcome more men and lower singers – but everyone is welcome in Hullabaloo! Let’s get back together! See you Monday 15th January!

Registration

You may book online in advance or just turn up…

To book in advance, please email info@hullabalooquire.org with:

• Your first and last name,

• Phone Number

• Whether you are booking for an open session or for the whole term

OR you can turn up to one of our open sessions and fill in a form, too (wow! – just like the old days!)

NB: It’s very important this term that we don’t come to choir with any kind of sniffle/virus/infection, we’re sorry to be going back to Covid-like measures, but we have to be really careful not to send any bugs home with Kirsty

Venues

Our rehearsals are at Stanford Junior School, Stanford Road, Brighton BN1 5PR

The main door is on the side, where there is also a bike rack (but you may bring bikes into the building if you are concerned for their safety). All areas we will use are level access. There will be a tea break – please bring a mug. Further details will be included in the session emails and during rehearsals.

Drivers

There is parking in the playground, around the perimeter as there is an air raid shelter below so there is a weight limit and cars will need to be spaced out. At the first rehearsal, we will need to judge how many cars will fit and we’ll be prioritising spaces for folk whose only way to get to choir is by car… Otherwise, there is plenty of street parking (pay until 8pm). Pease do consider car shares, if possible!

Our weekend rehearsal is usually at Middle Street Primary School. More info on venue, date and time will come when details are confirmed.

All venues we use are accessible – please email us if you have any queries.
