Epicene Watch Party | #SaveOurVenues

Award-winning musician Paul Diello invites you to his gender-blending celebration of iconic women in music. Join the Brighton-based performer and his band on a colourful camp cabaret extravaganza as they reimagine classic female songs originally performed by legendary singers such as Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell and PJ Harvey to name but a few. Dance, sing, laugh and cry as Paul interweaves his journey of childhood out-castings and social misfittery into well-loved compositions. Every sense will be tantalised in this outrageous, rainbow-coloured romp. The show was recorded live during Brighton Fringe at The Brunswick in May 2019 and we’ll be streaming the performance as a Watch Party in order to raise funds for The Brunswick as part of the Save Our Venues campaign. Toumaranke Live Stream Every Saturday

Join Toumaranke (aka Chris and Moussa Sylla) every Saturday at 2.30 Livestream FREE from the Hands On Skin Facebook page. We bring you an hour of West African delights – starting with drum rhythms that anyone can play (use a tabletop or a saucepan if you don’t have a drum) and incorporating a bit of ethnomusicology, sometimes a song, but always some interesting music and the wonderful Ngoni (8 stringed West African harp) to play you out.  Some of our friends have been inspired to add their own special touch and our archives already include percussion on tuned saucepans, balti dishes and garden trowels! Come and join us! Chris & Moussa x

Commoners Choir Singing Together Apart

The song was written to try understand the idea that this huge bunch of people were suddenly no longer able to meet and sing together. The sheer physicality of 70+ people in a room, singing, is impossible to emulate on screens, separated and distanced.
But recording this song in our kitchens, living rooms and gardens and then being able to see how it can come together to make a proper Commoners Choir song is a way to remind us of how we can still, through all this, be a shouty, laughing, gang of a choir.
